Sod Installation In St. Petersburg, Florida

Professional Sod Installation – Lush, Green Lawns That Last

We offer expert sod installation, helping homeowners achieve thick, healthy lawns with top-quality sod and professional service. Whether you're replacing old grass or starting fresh, our sod installation team ensures your lawn thrives in the local climate and soil conditions.

Do I Need Irrigation If I'm Installing Sod?

New sod needs consistent watering to root properly and stay healthy. Water 2–4 times daily for the first two weeks, then reduce as it establishes. A reliable irrigation system is key, especially in Florida’s heat. Once the sod is established, you only will need to water it about 3 days per week.

Will I Need To Apply Fungus And Pest Control To New Sod? If So, When Do I Apply It?

Fungus and pest control should be applied to fresh sod as soon as possible after installation to prevent disease and insect damage while the root system is still establishing. Moist conditions, frequent watering, and warm temperatures can create an ideal environment for fungal growth and pests, so early treatment helps ensure healthy, vigorous turf development.

When Is The Most Ideal Time To Install Sod?

The best time to install sod in Florida is during the early fall, when temperatures are warm but not extreme and there's consistent rainfall to help the grass establish strong roots. In St. Petersburg, late March through May and September through early November are ideal, as the mild weather reduces stress on new sod. Avoid installing during the peak of summer heat or winter cold snaps to ensure the healthiest growth and quickest establishment.

How Long Does Sod Take To Take Root?

The warmer the temperature, the faster sod takes root. Your sod should take root in five to 15 days in the summer, and 20 to 30 days in the winter. It is recommended not to mow your sod until after it has taken root.

Do You Offer A Warranty On Fresh Sod?

Certain times of the year, we will offer a 30 day warrantee. This is only as long as customers adhere to our post-care requirements, which include treatment with a starter fertilizer, an approved insecticide, and an approved fungicide, as well as following our watering instructions.

How Long Will It Take To Have My Sod Installed Once I Approve The Quote?

Within 1-2 weeks, assuming that all your irrigation is in place and ready to go!
